Fireflies dance in the summer night
Spinning golden circles of light
Three guitars weave a waltz so slow
Where the warm bayou breezes blow
Shadows sway on the old porch swing
Caroline’s fingers dance on the strings
Tom’s fiddle cries a sweet refrain
While Jerry’s notes fall soft like rain
Hold me close while the fireflies glow
In three-quarter time, sway to and fro
Let this Louisiana night go on
Till the last little light is gone
